Interesting Facts:

  • The plastic molding techniques used were adapted during the Second World War. During this time, the Eameses also experimented on and perfected creating bent, welded wire.
  • This chair was the first mass-produced chair that required no upholstery and no covering, center-staging the actual materials of the chair.
  • The main differences between our chair and others out in the market are that we use fiberglass instead of molded plastic for the seat, as well as using only premium woods such as American Maple, White Oak or American Walnut for the legs. All of the metal parts comprise either polished stainless steel or powdercoated steel. No cheap and flimsy wood or chrome-plated and rust-prone lower-grade steel is used in the manufacture of this chair.
