Sean Dix was born in Kansas City (USA). he lived in Fiji, Micronesia, and the Philippines before moving to San Diego, Chicago, and then to Europe in 1994 and finally Hong Kong in 2008.
Boasting a distinguished pedigree in design, he has graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Rietveld Academie (Amsterdam) and Domus Academy (Milan), and given back to the design community by lecturing and teaching at numerous schools around the world including IULM (Milan), Politecnico di Milano, Domus Academy (Milan), Beckman’s College of Design (Stockholm), and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Mr. Dix has extensive experience working with and leading international teams of clients, designers, project architects, structural engineers, contractors, fabricators and local architects in order to bring complex projects to fruition.
His clients include Yardbird Restaurant, Ronin, Carbone Restaurant, Viet Kitchen, Black Sheep Restaurants, Okra, HD Buttercup, Belon Restaurant, IFC Mall, Panda Restaurant Group, YUM! Sean Dix's approach to design emphasizes simplicity and function, looking to classic designs of the 50's for inspiration. This lends a slight vintage feel to the furniture pieces, which are built with quality and great attention to detail so that perhaps someday they might serve as an inspiration to designers 50 years from now.
